Dear Froebelian Families,
What an amazing year it has been!
Heartfelt thanks go out to parents, staff, and governors who generously contributed their time, talents, and resources to make our fundraising efforts truly impressive this year. Our collective spirit and dedication have once again demonstrated the incredible community we have here at Froebelian.
Our fundraising calendar was full to bursting this year, offering something for everyone. As always, our preloved uniform sales were a cornerstone of our efforts. With children constantly growing (and occasionally misplacing items), we also offered on-request ordering throughout the year. Though not glamorous and definitely heavy on the arms (moving all the uniform), this initiative remains crucial for many families.
Our three main events of the year – the Christmas Fair, the Spring Ball, and the Summer Fair – require the most planning and the largest committees, but they are always our biggest successes. The Classlist App has made arranging these events much easier, and by joining and purchasing tickets in advance, you really helped our committees plan with greater ease and for the events to run smoothly. These events not only raised significant funds but also brought our community closer together.
Two smaller, yet equally delightful events aimed at parents were the Wreath-Making Workshop and the refreshment stall at the Junior Sports Day. The workshop, held in the lead-up to Christmas, really got everyone feeling festive, thanks to the wonderful support of local florist, Charlotte, from Rockwood Garlands. We hope to collaborate with her again in the future. The refreshment stall was a hit once more, keeping spectators warm in the chilly June wind, as they cheered on our young athletes.
In addition to our established events, we introduced two new ones this year. The Disco, for Transition to Form IV pupils, was an action-packed evening, with Mr. Shuffles providing fantastic entertainment. We are thrilled that he has agreed to return next academic year for more fun! Our youngest children in the two Kindergarten classes enjoyed a very special Teddy Bear’s Picnic, creating cherished memories at the start of their Froebelian journey.
We were able to make three contributions to Bag2School, which collects pre-loved clothing and textiles. Additionally, we made a sizable donation of out-of-date uniforms to The Zikomo Trust, which supports schools in Malawi. These efforts reflect our commitment to sustainability and global responsibility, extending the spirit of our community beyond our immediate surroundings.
This year, we proudly donated over £3000 toward school trips and residentials, providing invaluable experiences and opportunities for our students. These contributions enrich their education and create lasting memories.
I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has contributed to the FPTA over the past 24 months. By making donations, attending events, and giving your time, you have shown tremendous support for all that the committee strives to achieve.
It has been an honour to serve as your Chair for the past two years. Along with Ransford Darko (Vice-Chair) and Scott Robson (Treasurer), I officially resigned my position at the AGM in June. I have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to support the school and Froebelian families in such a rewarding role, but with changes to my other responsibilities, it was time for me to step down. I wish the new committee every success and offer my full support.
